Hi Rob, I came upon your page by chance - what excellent pictures and charming captions (they really made me laugh.) it really gives a sense of yourself and family. really a pleasure, thank you.

Hello Rob....I came upon your website while googling Gerald Quissell, a teacher I had back in 1968 in Buena Park, CA. Is Bob Rathman your father??? He was also a teacher at La Palma Jr. High in Buena Park. I was just wondering what these men were doing after all these years. I now live in northern Idaho. Write back if you'd like.

Hi Rob and Em,

It looks like such a nice place. I like the wood floors and the colors of paint. I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Hi Rob,
I thought I would take a look at your photos. Such nice work! Cute girl you are standing with at Diamond lake. Gerald and I are planning a camping trip to Diamond lake in September. We haven't been there since our families were there.

rob, went thru a similar situation in 2005. took my left nut, and indeed was engaged in (fortunately) only radiation therapy. i simultaneously engaged an excellent accupuncturist, which helped with the digestion issues. self medicating with weed also helped with appetite. all is now well and i'm back to normal. good luck to you and all who may read this and may be going through surgery.

Great job, man. Photos help me almost as much as written journals. :)

What a world this is. I stumbled upon, and enjoyed, your trailjournals entries a few months ago. I'm drawn back every couple weeks to your photoblog, and lo and behold I see a great pic of long lost Carolina. Plus a pic of the miniature version of her. I mean damn! Talk about a look alike! Lina, if you see this, nice to "see you".

Thank you for letting me wander around in here. . . Beautiful-
Haven't seen the one about the bear yet. . . going to go look for it now.
You seem to be someone with whom I can share this much loved quote. . .
"Not all who wander are lost." You are beloved by many and for due cause.
Muhalo, or Thank You....

I just helped move Jason Blazier this last weekend, and I heard from his folks all about your latest trials and tribulations. I can't believe it has probably been over 10 years since I saw you, so I was a little surprised to hear of your latest adventures. I now have 3 kids and am living in Winnebago, IL. I will keep living vicariously through your adventures. Keep up the good work, and I'll see you on the web throughout your trek.

Rob -- Your mom and dad just spent a couple of days with us here in Peoria. They told us about your trek with pride and awe. We have all viewed your photos and find ourselves equally awed. We say congratulations on choosing an adventure that celebrates spirt, beauty, strength and health. Keep up the pace and know that you have a support group in Peoria, Il cheering you on! Hi Rob!

Now I officially know you are crazy! We saw your mom & dad this past weekend and they filled us in on your big adventure. So we had to go online right away and see the bear! That is insane but we are so glad that you are OK and doing well. You really should be proud of yourself - this takes such courage and will be quite an accomplishment. Anyways, we are thinking of you and will be following your progress! Really hope to see you guys soon when you are home safe is Oregon! Take care and Stay safe! Love, Cathy, Pete, Emma & Grace
