(The building shown here was formerly occupied by the Sarausal Institute, owned by the Sarausad family. It was named Sarausal (pronounced sa-ROS-al) because the Americans could not pronounced the family name. Among the teachers then were Mr. Aballe (mathematics) , Mr. Real (history) and Ms. Garces of Talisay (English). When the Sarausal Institute was discontinued, the newly-formed Carcar Academy took over the building the following year.)
