subo kaayo palandungon nga kining mga kara-ang balay sa atong lungsod nga natawhan inanay nga gika-on sa anay tungod kay kasagaran sa mga nagpabilin nga manununod, wa man intawn ma-edukar ug kung nakahuman man gani ug college, naglisod usab sa ilang panginabuhi. Dakong kwarta ang gikinahanglan para pag-preserve ug pag-renovate aning mga balaya....

I was nostalgic this Holy weekend so I started googling, Carcar. I practically grew up in the summers of Carcar. I belong to the Cui-Marfori clan. I remember the Sugat. It was done right at our corner and we had the best view. The choir would sing from the balcony. The lady who was in charge of the angels we considered "ongo". The angel changed Blessed Mary's veil from black to white when they met at the corner. Seeing the pictures brings back lots of good memories. I used to hang out with my cousins Luzel (married to vice mayor Roger Montesclaros), Marisol and Marilou Cui, May Barcenilla. One of the Valencia boys even became one of my teenage boyfriends. My aunt Inday Pilar has retired and my cousins and sibling now ran the bank and sit on the board.

I was being nostalgic this weekend as it is Holy Week. Been in the US 23 years and I grew up in the Marfori residence in the summers of my younger years. We were in charge of the karmata for the resurrected Jesus and right in that corner, the changing of the veils from black to white of the Mother Mary happened early Easter morning when the the Karmata of Jesus and Mary meets. A little structure was put up in that corner and the chosen angel of the year would be let down to do the exchanging of veils. The choir would sing from the balcony. Thank you for the pictures. I miss that. My aunt still lives there although she retired as the bank Manager. My cousins and siblings now help run the bank and sit on the board.

Poreso we should straighten out "facts" before we hit the keyboard kay daghang intellegent nga carcaranon nga magsuroyan ining what i call our web site. On this gallery alone daghan kaayo ?????????? sa mga info. Undo Minong`s not Anon`s as far as I know it.

Hi!the person who made the correction about Melot's Villarosa is correct.I am Roly Barcenilla one of the nephew of Tio Melot.It brought a lot of memories after seeing the picture of the old house,we use toeat lunch there with the rest of my cousins.Thanks for showing the pictures. Roly

thank you for the correction, i might be mistaken too. like you, i have been away from carcar since i was in elementary pero wa ko mo-abroad ha. diri na lang ko ni-skwela sa cebu city. i think you're right, c noy melot villarosa ako gipasabut ani. soooo soriiiii! my deepest apologies..

Hello Tes...I am a CArcaranon too! Left Cebu for good...but had the chance to visit Carcar since the '80's two or three times....I know MOselle....we had been to school since (we were this high) we had been classmates.......I like the pictures you have chosen in this collection....i hope you don't mind......would just like to make a correction...you may verify this if you wish.....Melot is not a Cui......if you are referring to MElot VIllarosa...the house you have labeled as MElot CUi's should be MElot Villarosa's...although his sister Mrs. Cui married to Dr. CUi lived in this house in the picture....I could not be mistaken....classmate namo ni MOselle si Marisol Cui,,,anak ni Mrs. Cui...pag-umangkon ni Noy MElot..... Check mo lang Day, ha? basin baya nasayop pod ko....
