Due to renovations at our original venue, our plans were altered to have the fiesta gathering at Bald Hill Park after the mass at St. Andrews Church. However, Melbourne Carcaranons woke to very heavy rain and winds, but with true spirit, we went to mass and were delighted to discover that Grace Pena and Lota Fantonial had spoken to the priest about the fate of the Melbourne Carcaranons having to brave the wet windy weather while sharing our fiesta lunch. To our delight, the priest agreed to let us have our lunch at the church. We were so blessed and thankful. The Melbourne Carcaranons had a wonderful lunch gathering at the church followed by our dance and singing performances and at around 3.30pm, we had the place cleaned up and we went to Bald Hill Park. Despite the bitter cold winds and brief showers, we had a great time at the park. Our new generator provided electricity for our karaoke set up which was a great source of entertainment for the adults. The children enjoyed their pinata and playing on the playground. We had planned to have adult games as well but with the wet and windy weather, it had to be deleted from our original agenda. The Melbourne Carcaranons also voted in their new committee members and our new President for 2009 is Grace Pena, Tresurer - Lota Fantonial, PR - Angela Sorono, Secretary - Agnes Montecillo and Entertainment co-ordinator - Rowena Tangarorang. With a fabulous team leading us, us Melbourne Carcaranons have a lot to look forward to next year! Viva Santa Catalina!! To any other Melbourne Carcaranons out there, please do make contact with us and make sure you don't miss out on our many events in 2009.
