These photographs were taken on South Padre Island or in Tamaulipas, Mexico. These photos were taken from 2007-2011 . The species of sea turtles in these photographs are primarily Kemp's ridleys and a few are loggerheads and Atlantic greens. Sea Turtle, Inc. is a non-profit organization on South Padre Island, Texas that invites the public to attend hatchling releases from June-August of each year. I began turtle patrols in May and saw my first turtle release Sunday, June 20. I am so thrilled to be part of this dedicated team. Awesome work to save these precious creatures!Fantastic pictures.

Our turtle population is growing, thanks to you and so many others, including those at the Gladys Porter Zoo, where I am privileged to be a docent. My family will attend a turtle release this summer on SPI. Keep up the good work!!!

Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to adopt a sea turtle for our 2nd grade class at Broaddus Elementary. As their teacher, I took it upon myself to name the turtle Lisa, Melissa, in memory of my student Reese Rushing's Mother. She was a very beautuful wife, mother, and person that left Reese when he was only 4. Thank you so much!!!!! God Bless You Sea Turtle Inc. for you have made a difference in the lives of my second grade student's at Broaddus Elementary.

We have been visiting SPI each summer for 35 years but had never witnessed the turtle release - fantastic - hope our vacation timing is right next year so the children in our

Just a note to all visitors to the photopage - we cannot predict exact hatch or release dates for the nests. We will be posting estimates for the nests once the females begin to nest in April.

My daughter & her family will visit in June. We will be on South Padre onn6/22,23, & 24. Do you have any public releases scheduled on any of these days?
You know we can learn from these little turtles courage! I know they act on natural instinct, but for such a tiny, helpless creature to go straight into that immense, untamed ocean is absolutely amazing. It gives one much to meditate on. Thank you for all you do. I have fallen in love with sea turtles. Perhaps, in the future I will inquire about your volunteer program.

I went to a turtle release on June 26th, and it was absolutely amazing. I took tons of pictures to show my students in Austin! The staff and volunteers were so nice and eager to answer questions. It is something I'll never forget.
