I hope you enjoy viewing these images of things I see. My main interests are nature photography especially macro and close ups. I shoot these images for mainly my own amusement but from time time to time I do sell some of these. I now print on canvas on any size up to 40 by 70". You can choose your choice of simple frames and thickness of the stretched canvas. I can custom print and deliver any work you see here in less than 5 days.
I currently have an exhibit at the Avalon Gallery in Delray Beach, 425 Atlantic Ave which has 3 larger 30 by 40" on canvas for sale there. Summer 2008 is the Kuhlhaus Gallery show in Harbor Springs, MI.
This summer, 2008 I have a photos on display at the Kuhlhaus Gallery in Harbor Springs, MI. Located at 294 East 3rd Street, Harbor Springs, 49740. These are Orchids on black backgrounds printed on canvas. They are 30 by 40" and a few are 32 x 48". I hope if your in the area you can stop in.
If you want to use any of these photos for your use go ahead rip them off but please give me credit. In this day and age of digital cameras everyone is a pro and photography is cheap now. So go ahead use them but please just give me credit.
I often get asked what equipment I use: Right now August 2008 I use a Nikon D200 with 4 good pro quality lenses. I have the 300mm AFS f2.8 with 2 teleconverters, a 17-55mm f2.8 AFS plus a 70-180mm Nikon Macro Zoom and 85mm f1.8 These 4 lenses give me all I need. I also have a D1X that is an older "pro" body that gives very good output at 10 Megapixels and if anyone asks me what camera to get to start I think that the D1 or D1X is the deal of the decade. In 2001 a D1X was selling for $6000 (10,000 in 2008 bucks). It was a great camera then and it is still one now. If you want to go the "pro" route and really want to study photography then consider one of these bodies. Get the Battery Barn brand of battery and you will have no power issues.
For any decisions about what equipment to buy please surf on over to www.kenrockwell.com. He is a wealth of info on the subject and a good writer as well. If you buy online please click on the online vendor. B&H or Adorama or Amazon from Ken's site.
For the rest of us who just want to snap photos, 99.9% of anyones photography a Nikon D40 (not D40x) with a 55-200mm Nikon VR lens will be over kill but worth the money. I don't suggest point and shoot cameras with this one costing only a little more. Point and shoots are slow to start and shoot and you will hate it missing the candles being blown out at a birthday party.
Please leave a note if you enjoy seeing any of of my photos.
