This is a wonderful gallery, Marilu. I'm surprised the hummingbirds get along so well. The ruby-throated here are extremely territorial.

Breath taking photos your a Pro- very well done! When I see such beuty in nature I see the hand of our creator and the time and detail that He took even for the smallest things in life as the litle humming birds He put the colors of the rainbow upon them" and as little as the lady bug He took time to put the spots upone there backs" seeing the hand of our creator at work all around us if we just take time to open out eye's and look around us.

Do you travel?? I have a suggestion. You should take a trip to Sierra Vista Arizona, just a short distance form there is Carr Mountain, home to many varied and some very rare hummingbirds. I would love to see what you can do there!!

Hi Marilu,

I love your hummingbird photos and jealous you have so many birds at your home. If you could send a few to my home near West Yellowstone, that would be nice. I am especially interested in your Allen's hummingbirds. I don't mean to be bold, but I was wondering if you ever let someone come over to photograph the hummers. I do a lot of hummingbird photography with a five flash setup and actually teach hummingbird photo workshops in British Columbia of all places. I found a place near Cranbrook, BC where hundreds of rufous, calliope, and black-chinned hummers swarm the feeders. I know you have no idea who I am, but you can check me out at my web site at www.gerlachnaturephoto.com

In the meantime, keep enjoying those hummers-my favorite group of birds.

These pics are 11's on a scale of ten!! I've been trying to get these types of shots and haven't come close at all getting these pics. (I'm a newbie using a Minolta A1 and a good flash).

I have a small book on humming birds and your shots are second to none. I used to think they must be using stuffed birds to get the shots. I then have got to the point of being able to freeze the wings of the birds in my pics but they are extremely grainy even with a strong flash and post processing. The clarity is stunning.

If your selling pics I'd love to by a couple, my wife and I have a lot of hummingbird stuff around our house. I love to watch the feeder. If your not selling pics, I'd love a couple copies of your shots.

Great gallery Marilu. I have been trying to get a good shot of my lonely little hummer for a week now. :( You must have a magic mixture for your feeders. All I get is lots of sparrows. LOL

These hummer shots are absolutely beautiful? How do you it? Are most taken at feeders? You obviously have more access to hummers than I do. Just three or four visit our yard. They seem territorial. I'm amazed how people get hordes of them to visit their yards. What is a D70? D100 is an SLR, right? What lens do you use?

These photos are truly amazing; not just this gallery of hummingbirds but all the galleries. Anybody who has spent time trying to photograph hummingbirds, fireworks and macro know how challenging this can be. Stunning photos; keep up the great work !!

Just have to compliment you on this particular gallery, Marilou. Very difficult to photograph and you are obviously in an area of the country where there are many of them. Aggressive little critters amongst each other! Just beautiful and enjoyed looking at them all.

I just can't believe the number of Humming Birds you have at one time. I would like to know what part of the country you live in. I usually have two fighting over my feeders and I love to see that. I came in to see how your lenses work. I'm not sure which one I want, the ClearVue or the EagleEye. These pictures are beautiful. What speed do you set your camera at when shooting these. I have the CP995, and I'm just learning. I can see that you are the one to ask. LOL Sorry for all the questions, but your gallery is so wonderful that I'm just full of questions.

Your patience and love of these beauties sure comes through Marilu. I have never seen anything like it. So many birds and feeders. Must keep you hoping just keeping them filled!! We have only the one, and he is absolute King of the realm. Only in late evening does he let the ladies in for a sip, so seeing your multitude with so much action going on is a real treat. I look forward to returning and viewing again and again. Thanks very much for the show.
