The kite pictures were taken with a teleconverter and tripod? Amazing. Autofocus?

Nikkon 80-400 f4 whit Tamron SP AF 2x Work in auto focus?
I have nikon TC14E II 1.4 buth not working with nikon 80-400f4 in auto focus.
Tamron works in auto focus with 80-400 f4.

Hi John, Yes, mine is the 5.6 and I'm not sure there is another. I am also using it with the Tamrom 2x and it's not bad. You do need tons of light, but it works great. The 80-400VR by itself is an amazing lens. You will love it!!

Marilu, I have priced and hope to get the AF VR 80 - 400, is yours the f/4.5 - 5.6D ED (5x) lens or is there a highter quality one which I would need to consider. John W.

Great images Marilu. I have just bought a D100. At present my largest lens is 70 - 210 and I also have a Tamron x2 converter. Obviously I need to buy a larger lens and then maybe I can achieve something like your shots. Keep up the good work. Regards John W
