Field Day 2004
This was taken at the annual ham radio event. This may appear to be a little odd, a guy firing a sling shot next to a kid with a fishing pole, but it has special meaning. The guy is firing a weight, attached to the fishing line. The line is being shot over a branch. Then the weight is removed and a heavier line is attached and reeled back over the branch. The heavier line can then be used to raise a wire antenna (dipole). In this case, after numerous failed attempts, the weight was thrown over the branch. But this is still a fun photo (when you know the story).
