ON LEARNING HOW TO LOOK
if you look behind the waves,
beyond each single stroke of silver-threaded water,
to where the sky connects
in an ever-increasing pattern of ruffled light and darkness -
that is where, I swear, you'll find it -
inches above the water, hovering -
a world so quiet, even the remotest of sounds can vanish into it.
You need only to look.
At least, that's the way I see it.
