A road traveled many times over the last 14 years. This year, something was different. As we returned home from visiting our mothers, as we approached Greensburg, Kansas, we would have known something was amiss by the debris in the beautiful fields of grain, had we not already been informed by the media.

I wish I had Kevin's gift for adequately expressing the experience. I'm afraid I cannot possibly express the awe, the heaviness in my chest, the stench that literally stung my nostrils as we came upon the devastation of Greensburg. I will have to let the pictures try to speak for me.
