I finally got my copy of this lens. What a great little lens! Sharp and accurate focusing and a lot of fun. Sure, you're not going to use this for every shot, but for shots where you want the fisheye effect, this is certainly a great option for you. Very reasonably priced and built very well.

Want a fisheye for your 1.6x or 1.5x cropped sensor DSLR?
Want a cheaper but high quality fisheye for your FF DSLR?
Consider the Tokina AT-X Pro 10-17mm f3.5-4.5 lens with fisheye effect. The 10-17mm offers 16-27mm for Canon and 15-25.5mm on Nikons. It is sharp, with excellent colours, contrast and very good flare control. Focusing is quite fast and the lens is well-built with metal body and mount.

The bonus is that although this lens is designed for cropped sensor DSLRs, it can also be mounted on to a full-frame DSLR (I've put it on my 5D). Of course, there is vignetting at the widest angles, so from 10-13mm there is the shdow of the cropped frame but from 14mm to 17mm, it is full frame (no cropping required) with no vignetting totally. That means on a 5D, you get a 14-17mm fisheye zoom lens!

I consider this lens an extreme value-for-money lens that is equal to the Canon 15mm fisheye I had before and the 10-22mm, plus you can use it on any sensor-sized camera you want. The 10-17mm is surprisingly compact and lightweight, so can go with you anytime anywhere. Zoom rings are a little small (because of the small lens size). The lens comes with a one year international warranty from Tokina and front and rear lens caps, as well as manual.

This lens has an amazing close focus as well as nearly 180 corner to corner. The images are sharp with little abberattion at the edges. It is wider than the sigma 10-20mm zoom at 10 mm. Have a look at my gallery of test images athttp://www.pbase.com/barry_2718/tokina1017
