I have the current version of the lens: APO 300mm F2.8 EX DG/HSM I really like it, I looked at the Canon 300 2.8 IS but didn't want to spend so much money. The Sigma is very sharp and takes the 1.4x well..it seems to work better with the Sigma TC than with the Canon. AF is slower that my Canon 70-200 2.8 IS USM but not by much. I use this on a Mark III and it was very FF but Sigma fixed it. I am pleased with this lens.
