As one sports photog said to me....this is the lens that started making me money. My very first outing with the lens, I knew why. Spectacularly sharp and contrasty....one of Nikon's very best. Swift and silent focusing. Tremendously smooth gradation and bokeh....it isolates subjects in razor-sharp profile against a buttery background. If you shoot sports, worth every penny you can rustle up to get one.
