Nikkor 28mm f/3.5 AI Lens Sample Photos and Specifications

Just got this lens to hopefully replace my 28mm 2.8D lens and it seems to work really well with the D700 which has a menu option to set up non cpu lenses. The construction quality really is top notch compared with the cheap construction of more modern AF lenses.

I've just picked up one of these to stick on my D200. My first ever MF Nikkor, and my first MF lens since the late 1980s. I'm absolutely loving the build quality and feel, not surprising when you consider that the cheapest Ai-S lens now sold by Nikon (and not forgetting that the Ai-S lenses had a cheaper build than the earlier Ai ones) is £597! I paid just over £60 for my mint (except two tiny marks on body) version. I'm also really enjoying having to slow down the whole photography process, more time to think. Slug, if you don't want to add ALL lenses, why does it say 'The PBase Camera Museum is intended to be a resource about all camera equipment' on this page?

This is an extremely sharp lens (the very sharpest) on a digital sensor, because it is designed for superior center sharpness on 35mm film. I have the pre-ai equivalent, but since Slug does not want to ad ALL Nikkor lenses under Nikon, I am going to reference this lens when I'm using my pre-ai, which is identical except for the ai-cut.
