This is my first real Macro lens which in combination 5D MKII creates marvelous pictures. I just found this lens ideal for behind glass captures like tiny items in museums or aquarium. The lens also performs fantastic in portraits.

My first macro lens.
I'm glad I went with an L lens. It takes amazingly sharp pictures and is easy to use even handheld.
Great for portraits as well.

The IS makes this Macro lens a joy to use! And it is also very SHARP!

A great portrait lens for people and nature photography. The resolution is noticeably better than my Canon 70-200 2.8 L IS Mark 1. This lens has become my favorite in the Canon system.

Awesome sharpness and IS allows for handheld shots in circumstances you could not get before.

A very nice lens! Razorsharp, the IS works perfectly for macro and the bokeh is very smooth and beautiful...
