PSA Flight 182

"This tree grows in caring memory of the
passengers and community residents
who perished in the crash of PSA flight 182
on September 28, 1978.
This tree grows in the spirit of North Park
and the residents who rebuilt their community."

Next week will mark the 30th anniversary of this
tragic event.

Yep, I remember that image of the 727 going down. I used to play with my toy planes like that, but it must have been so scary to all as the plane stood no chance at all.

This is pretty cool, in a tragic kind of way. I read the links and found it all pretty interesting. I wish I could see the area. Sad as it is, it is history.

I should have read the wikipedia first. The crash I am thinking of happened in/near NYC.

Was this the crash where there was one lone (miraculous) survivor? Or am I thinking of another?
