All lighting is natural. And this I would guess, is a candid shot. The fellow without a hat may or may not be a veteran (but not of WWII).

Nicely staged shot, is that natural lighting behinde the subjects or stage lighting?also is the joe not wearing the hat a veteran? Would make a great diorama,well done
