People and Faces at Loyang Tua Pek Kong Temple Relocation Aug 07
The Loyang Tua Pek Kong Temple in Singapore, was established in the 1980s. The temple owes its existence to a group of friends, who on finding figurines of different religions abandoned on a beach, brought them together and housed them under a unique mixed-religion temple. The Loyang Tua Pek Kong Temple has Buddhist, Hindu and Taoist deities and a Muslim Kramat (shrine) within its premises.
On 03 Aug 2007, well-wishers and devotees gathered to celebrate the relocation of the Loyang Tua Pek Kong temple, which moved from its old home in Loyang Way, to a new compound 2km down the road.
I was delighted to be able capture some colorful of the people and faces for this event.
Regretfully, there have been a lots of mismanagement and abuses committed by some of the key committees of Loyang Tua Pek Kong.
For years, efforts have been done by some of the righteous committee members to sound the alarm to the relevant authorities but there seem to be a very powerful element behind suppressing the truth from spilling onto the public.
Hopefully one day justice will prevails and expose the wrong doings of these people and let the donation money be correctly use to help the poor and needies.
