I just purchase the well acclaim Canon EF 70-200mm F4L IS USM lens. Managed have an hour of test shots using this lens at the Lian Shan Shuang Lin Temple in Toa Payoh, Singapore during Wesak Day morning. All shots are hand held without tripod.
There isn’t post processing being done to the photos except resizing and cropping. All horizontal shots are resize to 33% and all vertical shots are resize to 23%. This size is chosen to best fit to a 19 inch LCD monitor. Besides, I also crop the photo to 100% to show how the lens can bring out the tiny detail of the object. This lens is very sharp and consider a must have for all Canon user unless other wise you chose the EF 70-200mm F2.8L lens. The 4-Stop IS is truly amazing.
The photos are best view by selecting the “ORIGINAL” size if you want to check out the real quality of the photos. The pictures may be a little longer than normal to download as they are saved using the highest quality. It's worth the wait if you are considering buying this lens.
I have the same lens and I am very happy with it. Your review of this lens by displaying the original and cropped pictures helps to see the details. It would have been helpful to mention the distance, type of focusing (e.g.centering) and light metering (e.g. partial).
