Wild images – photography by Callie de Wet
Writing with light, on an ephemeral canvas, trying to catch the mood of the moment, the fleeting expression, the shift in colour, the tender shared moment – all of these are aspects of photography that challenge one when viewing the scene via TTL. Photography is an adolescent infatuation that started more than 40 years ago with a picture of a small wildcat kitten coming out of the black Botswana night to lick the blood off a springbok kill at a camp fire. It grew over the years to become a fickle mistress, and it has now evolved into a passionate pleasure where the next picture opportunity is still as tantalising as was the first encounter so many years ago.
It is never about the picture in the bag - it is about the anticipation of the next picture!
Welcome to my galleries - please feel free to browse or to leave a comment or a critique, both are welcome and appreciated.
I shoot mainly wildlife, birds more so than other critters.
I shoot Nikon and Nikkor and do a lot of shooting from hides and my vehicle.
