Easter Sunday Morning in a Sicilian village.	Lola, Turiddu's former fiancee who married Alfio when Turiddu went into the service.	Turiddu, home on leave, stops by to see Lola.	Lola has grown bored with her husband and has seduced Turiddu.
Nuns geting ready for the Easter service.	Turiddu's mother, Mamma Lucia goes out to get some bread.	Alter boys enter the church.	The church prepares for the Easter service.

The village comes to life.	A girl from the village, Santuzza arrives in agitation and despair.	Santuzza has been excommunicated and scorned by the village.	Lola grew tired of waiting for Turiddu while he did his stint in the army and married the rich Alfio.
Santuzza consoled the crushed Turiddu and is now hurt by his and Lola's tryst.	Alfio enters the town cracking his whip and announcing how happy he is with his young wife and great job.	Alfio	Alfio asks when the shipment of wine is due in. Lucia says Turiddu is bringing it in.

She tells Mamma Lucia the story.	Lucia is shocked and goes to church to offer a prayer for the abandoned Santuzza.	Santuzza confronts Turiddu who denies he still loves Lola.	Lola arrives for church.
The sashaying Lola makes cruel sport of her rival.	The sashaying Lola makes cruel sport of her rival.	Lola brazenly enters the church and calls Turiddu to join her.	Santuzza implores Turiddu to stay.
Santuzza blocks his path and is thrown to the ground.	Turidda leaves her to enter church as she hurls a curse at him.	Alfio is late for church and comes by.	Santuzza tells him his wife is in church wih Turiddu and then blurts out the whole sorid story.
The Easter service ends.	Turiddu, Lola and the villagers leave church for a drink at the tavern.	Turiddu offers up a lively drinking song.	Turiddu offers up a lively drinking song.

Alfio waits for Turiddu in the orchard. Turiddu bids his mother goodbye and asks that she watch over Santuzza.	Alfio kills Turiddu and returns to the square.	The cast.	Lola & the cast.
