Photos of Ueno and Akihabara, from my May 2006 trip to Japan. Both of these areas are in the Taito Ward of Tokyo, and are only a couple stops away from one another on the Yamanote line. Ueno phots are of Ueno park, and just outside the large Ueno station. Also, there are a few photos of Tokyo Univeristy. Akihabara is also know as "Electric town" and offers an interesting collection of electronic & computer goods alongside anime, manga, and other "otaku" goods. Also there are a large number of "cosplay cafes" and you will often see girls in costume handing out flyers outside Akihabara station.
