Great Blue Herons

These pictures were taken at Lake Reba, in Richmond, Ky, which is very near my home. I check on them almost every day, and usually take several pictures in hopes of getting a good one. All of these pictures were taken with a Nikon D2x digital camera, with an 80-400 VR Nikon lens and a Bogen monopod.

Great shots! I have taken just a few in my area here on the west coast. It is so dry here right now (August, 2005), that the photos I've taken don't look very good. But, at least I know what the great big dark bird is.
