I took up photography as a hobby going on two years ago, and am enjoying it very much. Though I'm eager to learn and do feel I'm gradually improving, I have a long way to go to match some of the fabulously creative artists with whom I share these pbase.com pages. That's why you'll often find me lurking at their Photo A Day galleries, inhaling a bit of their talent.

My career initially consisted of serving over 23 years as first a Non-Commissioned and later a Commissioned US Army Officer, in areas including but not limited to France, Hawaii, Taiwan, Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam. After active duty retirement I both taught in the educational field and served as a business consultant.

May the 3rd 2012 update: I have once again proven myself quite fickle having first fallen in love with the Nikon d90, then irresponsibly abandoning it for the d7000, then looking for something younger and more svelte plunged with little thought into a relationship with the Nikon V1, and now have totally and shamelessly fallen for the d800. I predict this will last because frankly, I've run out of money.

I'm currently enjoying myself in the Florida Panhandle (Destin), a great place to photograph water birds and enjoy the sugar white beaches.

I welcome any remarks, good, bad, or indifferent.
