Jin Mao Tower on the left has 88 storeys. On the right is the building nicknamed the "bottle-opener" (Shanghai World Financial Centre) which was completed in 2008 and is one of the world's tallest skyscrapers with 101 storeys. It currently holds the record for the world's highest observation deck in a building at 474 m.

The Shanghai Tower skyscraper has just started construction in the same district and is planned to be even higher at 632 m and 128 storeys tall. Estimated completion date is 2014.
