I know of the HDR utility. Interesting thought, but it wouldn't work with the way this was taken, as it's just a single image composition. The result of a lot of shots taken at various speeds while moving the zoom in or out (lots of variations involved, this being one of the better results).
This is a very interesting image Bob - would love to achive this type of results inside a covered bridge. By the way, this type of shot, with great contrast range, is or will be fodder for the new HDR (high dynamic range) software in Photoshop CS2 if you are not familiar with it.
