Indigo Buntings are abundant breeders along roadsides and old fields etc, but are not common migrants in Central Park. When not in breeding plumage, males look similar to the brown females.

Wow! It's tough to beat a hue of blue like this found out in nature! Fabulous bird, excellent capture. Composition, exposure, timing of the shot, pose, catchlight in the eye... all are spot-on. Really nice image. Gotta love those buntings!
