Common Loons are uncommon on the Central Park reservoir, so birders were glad when this one was discovered on Apr 9, 2007. It stayed through May 5th.

You were very lucky to get this bird, so close to home. Great Northern Divers in juv/winter plumage are quite common on the reservoirs near my home in central England during the winter, but we rarely see adults in summer plumage - voted.
