Nancy Patterson, a friend and nurse at Four Seasons Hospice. She and Laura Grace and later, Rita Malkki, were responsible at different times for making Deni's life much easier when she was in hospice care, and later, palliative care. While I am sure they provide the same skill and care to each of their patients, it seemed to us they responded even more positively than normal to Deni's joy of life and her spirited efforts to get better. In any case, we became friends as well as having a normal professional relationship.
