We heard a neighbor playing a flute one day, and decided we wanted flute music at our next open-garden party. That began our relationship with Lynn Hertel, then a flute student at George Washington University. She played at our parties for several years, and then moved in with us for several more years, during which time Lynn graduated and became an instructor. She now gives private flute lessons at her home in Arlington VA. Needless to say, she remains a fast friend.
