I used to live on Grosse Ile in my teens. I graduated from Grosse Ile H.S '71. As a photographer myself I appreciate your pictures they bring back memories of living there. I read a book "Nature as Teacher and Healer by James A. Swan PH.D 1992 in which he recounts growing up on Grosse Ile. He was head of the Institute for the study of Natural Systems in Mill Valley,Ca. I now live in Joshua Tree,Ca.

Your pictures are beautiful. One of my favorites is the baby Killdeer. Thankfully I lived on the Island when most of it was a wildlife sanctuary and no area had to be designated so I have seen most of these wonderful creatures. Thanks for sharing your wonderful talent.

Very nice...makes me homesick. Thanks for the memories. I used to hang out in the woods (it was woods then) between meridian and east river road. Lots of wildlife back then. If you sat still for a long time you could see tons of stuff. Thgere used to be a pair of snowy owls back in the seventies in those woods. Have you seen any lately?

awesome, i live on the 13 1/2 hole on west shore C..I am in the woods area, it is like funny farm over here..every wild animal/bird must live in the woods behind my house. It is great. I do take pictures but none are like yours!! Great job
