My one year old has had painful ear, measle type rash, upset tum, red eyes & high temp, hosp docs called it everything from hand foot n mouth to finally a viral infec, I believe strongly it's linked to the mmr jab given 5 wks ago!

Thank you so much, my son got a fever of 102 for two days then this rash occurred, i took him in i asked could this be from any shots that he had gotten a week prier and thy said no and told me it was roseola also known as the sixth disease. So i went home the rash went away then returned , i called back and they said not to come in it is ok this happens i asked a different doctor and they said this could be passable.

My 13 month old daughter just got the rash yesterday all over her body. 12 days after her MMR shot and man she was fussy. Don't know how long it lasts for?? The doctors office did give us a warning, this would happen.

Going through the same thing! Rash on his legs 26 days post mmr shot. Thank goodness it doesn't hurt/itch.

My daughter did not feel well starting a few days post shot (not eat but still drink bottle)and it lasted until 3 weeks post shot, with her getting a fever between 100-102 degrees on days 17-21 post shot. She also got the same rash on days 21-23 days post shot.

My 1 year old got the same rash and i was wondering if it could spread to my 5
year old?

I am relieved to see the picture because this is almost exactly how our little girl's rash is. I was concerned because she was a preemie (2 months early) that maybe her reaction was more severe, but it looks to be the same. High fever and upset stomache for 3 days, then this yucky rash. Good luck to all the other parents that are dealing with the same thing!!!

My Daughter received the MMR on Tuesday. By Wednesday the following week she started to run a high grade fever for 3 days. Saturday morning she woke up with a rash all over her.

my four year old has same rash, but I expected it. My Dr's office told me it might happen a few weeks after the vaccine (which was 2 weeks ago) I gave him some benedryl and childrens motrin... he's fine, not whiny, he was just sort of itchy. I gave it to him more for comfort than anything else.

We have the same rash, too with our 25 month old son who just got the vaccine 11 days ago. He ran a fever for 3 days before getting the rash.

Wow, it is Friday night and my son got this same rash Wednesday night and he still has it. He had the MMR vaccine on Tuesday. I brought him back to the doctor on Thursday and they said it was probably a reaction to the new vaccines(MMR and chickenpox) he got. He has no fever but is pretty fussy. His 1st molars are coming in too though.

And it happens when you're an adult too. I'm covered head to toe in this rash 3 weeks after getting my MMR shot for pre-pregnancy screening.

My daughter has the same rash that just appeared this morning but she had her vaccine nov 14 so over a month ago. I was not sure what it was because She also had a fever prior to the rash that lasted 48 hours. This does put my mind at ease. Thank you

I have argued with the Doctors for a week that I believed my daughters rash was caused by the MMR vaccine. After thorogh research I have decided it is NOT a viral infection. If your child has a reaction there is a site ran by the FDA and CDC to report. It is

My daughter developed an awful rash 2 weeks after her 18 month vaccine. She was covered head to toe, it was really red and raised. First doctor said it was a viral skin rash and it would be gone in a couple of days. Well it did go but then reappeared a week later. This continued for a few more weeks on and off, doctors still saying it was a virus. Then the fifth week it came back really red and all over, so I went to a different doctor and she said it is just a reaction to the vaccination, which can occur for up to six weeks after.

thankyou so much - i am home on my own with child with rash who is exhausted (as am I) and my head is going to meningitis because he is so tired and crying a bit - the rash is exactly this so my mind is at ease as he had the vaccine a week ago.

I think my little man has the same rash and has had it for days now.. how long did your little beauty have it.. to be honest he's actually really happy and back to his usual self so its obviously not bothering him - just thought it would have gone by now..

Thank God! Our son has exactly this rash, but I was scared because his nursery has chicken pox going round and I wanted to check it wasn't that! Thanks so much for posting this - the actual health websites are rubbish at showing a real rash on a real child!
Guest 16-Mar-2009 02:11
We have the same rash, and the same diapers! :)
