Thanks for the explanation Greg. I figured it was something like that. As I came back through the turnaround I saw what must have been you still running for that cone. It's no big deal - even without that cone I would have lost the challenge round by 2 tenths. One of these days I won't get paired up with a street tire car in the first round with my cold Hoosiers. :)
I just posted this photo because I didn't realize the cone was moved from its box until I watched the videos at home after the event. Now I don't feel so bad about hitting it. :) I should have seen it, but didn't. These modern cars with their fat A-pillars make visibility tough while turning left.

Bryan, sorry about having the cone end up that way on course for your runs. Another person in the challenge said he saw the cone like that a few times. I was the only course worker (1 of 4 total on the left side) covering from the start up to the first pass of the crossover and was standing a fair distance away from the cones just to get a view of the entire section. It was hard to see small cone nudges, and that one especially since it happens on the opposite side of the car.
