Made a quick stop at this California mission during my six hour drive home to Northern California.

This mission was founded on July 25, 1797 and was the 16th mission founded out of 21.
The distant statue is of Father Junipero Serra, who established a number of mission in California.

Unfortunately, this mission was severely damaged in a Dec 22, 2003 earthquake and much of it is closed for
repairs.
