Did a hike up to the top of Mount Tamalpais, just north of San Francisco.
Elevation 2571 ft ( 784 m )
We did the Railroad Grade trail, with a gradual grade of 6%.
A very popular steam train climbed from the town of Mill Valley to the top of Mt. Tamalpais
from 1896 to 1929.
It was called the ‘The Crookedest Railroad in the World’ for its 281 curves.
Its demise came with the popularity of the personal motor car.
On a clear day, Great views of San Francisco, the Pacific Ocean and the Mt. Tam. watershed.
Unfortuneately, a bit foggy over the city skyline today.
