Welcome to the newly renovated and recently renamed "Joan Harriss Cruise Pavillion" facelifted to the tune of $8 Million in honour of the late business leader who is credited with aiding to set the future direction of port and cruise ship development here in Sydney. Although the Interior is not quite finished I have included some photos of The acclaimed Largest Illuminated Fiddle in the World erected just outside the Pavillion which will welcome cruise visitors and others from far and wide. The Fiddle represents a huge part of our Heritage and was always a welcome visitor to many Kitchen Parties here in Cape Breton spanning many generations . It is a reportedly 55ft high, and made of steel plating . It weighs 10 tons . The strings are made of differing strands of steel cabling and bow also made from strands of stainless steel. The Fiddle was constructed locally by a Steel fabricating shop and designed by an employee of that shop.

The renovated marine terminal will include craft markets and retail space, a theatre area that seats up to 1,200 people and a 5,000-square-foot interpretative centre, accented by natural light from a glass atrium. The atrium, constructed on the south side of the building, features a lighthouse. A Restaurant will also be added in the very near future.
