We bought a home in Cookeville Tn last December and added a couple of hanging plants to the front porch. Spring of 2021 we were delighted to find a Wren had chose to nest in one. We now leave the front door open to listen to the babies cry out when mom returns to feed them. Only problem is that we’re afraid to water the plant. I’d rather buy a new plant. 😉

Wrens typically build a nest as a pair I think. However, they may build more than one nest and use them as "decoys" to reduce predation on the nest they use.

I am watching some wrens build a nest in a birdhouse. Do these birds build as partners or do the females nest together?

Couple springs ago, we returned to east Tn. From NC to find a nest lodged inside our br storm window. Month or so later I saw four or five clamed to the brick near the window.

The next spring a pair nested in an old box inside my lawn building window.
