Thanks to all the great athletes and staff for making me feel welcome and giving me such great material! Skeleton is not for the faint of heart - you are tearing down a rock-hard, icy track, headfirst, on a tiny sled, at up to 80 mph! Here are some of the shots from practice and competition. This gallery is mainly posted as a service to the athletes. For example, the sequences of launches will probably be more interesting to the athletes than the general public. Athletes and coaches: please add some comments such as the names of the athletes in the pictures, etc.

About the photos: the original images were all captured at 3072 x 2048 pixels (6.3 MP) in RAW mode using a Canon 10D, using lenses Canon 17-40mm f/4 L, Canon 200mm f/2.8, and Sigma 20mm f/1.8.

These files are medium-resolution JPEG format and are available for free download by the athletes and their families. They are higher resolution than you would typically use for the web, and should make nice 4 x 6 color inkjet prints if you have access to a photo printer. Please acknowledge photo credit if you use these photos on your website, portfolio, etc.

These original images are in a 3:2 aspect ratio, the same as 35mm film. They will print without cropping on 6x4, 9x6, 12x8, etc paper. The full-resolution images will print very nicely up to 10x15 or 13x19 inches. Poster prints to 24x36 are also available. Some of the best ones are now available for sale by clicking here. Currently images from Feb 04 and Feb 05 are in that store. I've just started a SmugMug store where you can order photos on mugs, shirts, puzzles, and lots of other fun stuff.
