A little more playing with the new lens. I'm not thrilled with the fuzziness at 18mm. This is at 50mm and cropped. Close-up and at 50mm it's pretty good.

Nikon D70 ,Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 EX DG
1/200s f/2.8 at 50.0mm iso200 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

I have tested some of the Sigma Lenses at Photokina and I went trough this one and there 12-24 and 14. Since Nikon was just beside of them (???) like usualy, I made tests with comparable Nikon lenses. The best performance came out of the Sigma 12-24 and Sigma's 14-2.8 lenses. I prefered the field deepth sharpness of the 18-70 from Nikon but found less perspective distorsion in this 18-50 from Sigma. On picture quality both perform the same.
Good shot here, Mark, gives nice views of what this lens can do.
