June 20, 2004

A flower for Father's Day? No. I have no idea what to shoot for Father's Day. Mom, tell dad I said, "Happy Father's Day."

It's also my parent's 40th wedding anniversary. And if you think that's a long time..stop! I'm almost that old too! So happy anniversary. (We did the big party thing for their 35th, so they don't get one five years later. :-) )

This photo is just one of 148 I shot today while wandering around the National Mall. It's not a shopping center, though the museums seem to have numerous gift shops and food courts and movie theaters these days. For best results, please view in original size.

Great shot, beautiful colors. Thanks for remembering our anniversary. We had a quiet ? day with the grandkids in the pool. We're beat! But it was fun, maybe our last pool party for a while.

...hey!!! welcome to the Hibiscus Photographer club; you're right, it looks much better at original. I started photographing hibiscus flowers cuz they were available right outside my door to test a new lens and now I've decided that they're pretty tough to do (too much to get into a shallow DOF) and now I'm obsessed with getting it right.
You did a good job!!

Yep, that's the castle. Perfect and unusual day for the last day of "spring" in Washington, DC. Not hot or humid.

Mark,
You obviously were where I should have been today. Beautiful shot. Is that the Smithsonian castle in the background?

Very nicely done Mark. I like the yellow against the blue sky.
