Wounded

He came out of the woods briefly one day and very carefully avoided all the other bears. Obviously, he had been in a recent conflict. The hunk of flesh missing from his flank looked far worse in real life.

It was a grim reminder that these bears are not tame animals. Instead, they are wild, powerful, and
very dangerous. He was never seen again beyond the 10 minutes he briefly attempted to fish at the falls. I can't help but wonder about his fate.
