Roosevelt Arch

North Entrance

While President Teddy Roosevelt was visiting Yellowstone during the arch's construction, he was asked to place a cornerstone. Under that cornerstone was a time capsule that contains a bible, a picture of Roosevelt, local newspapers, and other items. This 1903 arch - the first major entrance to Yellowstone - inherited also his name.

Many Park visitors consider the archway an attraction of Yellowstone and will even go out of their way to have their photos taken in front of the famous Roosevelt Arch. To the South of the arch is Mammoth inside the Park. To North is the community of Gardiner, Montana.

I like this shot a lot. I would like to use it as part of an assignment for my Educator's Trek to Yellowstone in Jan. '10, as part of a handout about the Arch to give our group of 10 teachers. Can you give me permission?
Thanks,
