Upon my arrival in Northern Minnesota, I heard tales of a three legged, wild, black bear. He would come to the meadow to feed. No one seemed to know how he had lost a leg. Different people had different speculations. However, his story piqued my interest. So day after day, I kept my eyes open in hopes of perhaps getting a glimpse of him. On the 5th day, I finally did. But my sighting was very brief and in the very far distance. As soon as I spotted him, he fled quickly fled back into the woods. Then two days later, I unexpected came across the local legend sunning himself in plain view in a clearing in the meadow. What a treat for me! His pose made my jaw drop in amazement. He was sitting so human-like and was even downright silly looking. After I snapped a couple of photos, he lazily got up and wandered off back into the woods.
