Earth Hour 2024: Give an Hour for Earth
· Earth Hour, the world’s largest grassroots movement for the environment, returns in 2024 as a beacon of positivity, hope and inspiration for the future of our planet.
· Major US landmarks including the Empire State Building, the Space Needle, Niagara Falls, and Willis Tower will all go dark for one hour.
· Individuals are encouraged to spend 60 minutes doing something positive for the planet, with personalized ideas available on WWF’s Hour Bank website.
FYI, the time in my camera's Exif is off. We turned our lights out between 8:30 and 9:30 PM CDST, according to the clocks in our house that had automatically adjusted for DST. The photo was taken just before 9 PM CDST.

The event is held annually, encouraging the individuals, communities, and businesses to give an hour for Earth, and additionally marked by landmarks and businesses switching off non-essential electric lights, for one hour from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m., usually on the last Saturday of March, as a symbol of commitment to the planet. The date will be one week earlier if the last Saturday in March is Holy Saturday, as it will be in 2024.
