Raindrops on the Pavement 2016

Down Pour!

The sky turned dark and the Heavens opened up.
The rain was heavy as a curtain with a few drops being so huge that they stood out in a crowd.
************************************************************

Because I didn't think to photograph the down pour that followed 2017 eclipse totality, I have added this older image of a similar scene at the same place. However, the lighting was brighter in this photo than it was on eclipse day. Still, thanks to Mother Nature, this was what we saw instead of the moon moving away from the sun.

By 1:30PM (while the moon was still moving away from the sun), there was severe flash flooding requiring an emergency water rescue less than a mile from our house.

The end of my tale.

What a great example of seeing beauty and the photographic possibilities in the most common of things. Outstanding textures and clarity in this challenging capture. V+

I like this somewhat abstract image. You captured the raindrops not only as they hit the pavement, but as they bounced back. I like that you captured three distinct "circles" on the pavement and that the image is pretty crisp. It appears that you chose to stick with the real colors as you saw them, which I also like. I think that you did a great job of capturing the feel of a rainstorm.
