Our "favorite" restaurant in the City closed forever on December 1st, 2011. However, my husband and I were able to say goodbye on its last night.

Established in 1973, Benton's has a history about as long as my own. We first discovered this marvelous dining establishment the year we moved here in the 80's. What a wonderful experience!!! I have been in love with Benton's ever since. Unlike most other places I know, many of the wait staff have been with this restaurant for over 30 years. They were professionals. They also made their regular clients feel like family. Saying goodbye was hard for all of us.

Nevertheless, the world is changing. It was decided that most people no longer want "up scale dining". Needless to say, I am sad about seeing the end of an era. However, I will remember this night. It was one last night of many years of good memories.
