Town history. Sadly based on the combination of danger to passers-by and economics, this historic building's smoke stack had to be taken down in 2007. The loss of the high rising, smoke stack greatly altered Parkville's modest skyline.
Upon this loss of the iconic smoke stack, the small micro brewery (that was renting the building at that time) sued the building's owner. Soon after, they left town. So that made a double loss to the modern town of Parkville. The bar & eatery that now occupies the old building is relatively new and far less well known that the former Power Plant Brewery. Meanwhile, this is one of the oldest, original buildings in Parkville. The Power Plant sits directly next to the RR tracks separating English Landing Park from the downtown. It is now in danger of flooding if the Flood Waters of 2011 enter the town. From the gallery http://www.pbase.com/britestar/2011_flood_of_the_century
