Great White Bear Tundra Lodge

Although only 3:30PM in the afternoon, it was starting to get dark when I caught my first glimpse of the Tundra Lodge. November days grow short on Hudson Bay.
The Great White Bear Tundra Lodge became my Home-Away-From-Home for the next week. In this photo, you can see the two Sleeping Cars & the Lounge Car. There is also a Dining Car and a Utility Car .

A Tundra Rover stands waiting.

Hi Liz,
how were the polar bears up in Churchill? The tundra lodge is on my list of places for Nov 10. I just returend from Haines, Alaska, where I photographed the eagles in winter - just fantastic. A few images are on www.pbase.com/mraeder/potd with more to follow.
Hope all is well, Meggi

I really get a sense of isolation from this. Did you become a close-knit community for the week?

That little 'Charlie Brown' tree makes quite a statement about its environment! Honor
