Although we live in a fully developed, suburban neighborhood, there is still a small area of woodland left over from the farms of days past. This woodland is home to a growing population of wild deer. When we first moved here, I never saw deer. However, as suburbia spread and the woodland shrunk, more and more deer started to end up on the road at night. Driving home after dark, one has to now be extremely careful. Until last year, you never saw these deer in daytime. However as the woodland continues to shrink, they are now making their way into people's yards long before dusk. This mother & fawn were pretty far away (full 18x zoom) when I captured their image. Nevertheless, I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up on the road by nighttme again.
